Community Partners: Working Together
MAC and MAF, or the Multnomah Athletic Foundation, are deeply connected to each other and the surrounding community. MAF is the community partner of MAC, and as a nonprofit organization it provides more than $200,000 each year in scholarships for post-secondary education and grants to local nonprofit organizations that keep kids active and playing.
Scholarships
Working as partners, MAF turn resources into funding and opportunities for students to achieve their academic and athletic goals. MAF scholarships help students to attend college despite financial need, encourage volunteerism and community involvement, support strides in the classroom and on the athletic fields while emphasizing the importance of diversity.
Scholarships available to local students through this partnership between MAF and MAC include:
- Loprinzi Scholarship
- Houser Scholarship
- MAC Employee Scholarship
- MAC Scholar Athlete Program
- Sport Specific Scholarship Programs
Grants
MAF grants help local nonprofit organizations help others. Grant partners invest in nearby communities and neighborhoods and encourage athletic participation as a means of building character and developing life skills.
Here are some of the ways the Foundation's grants make a difference:
- Funding for program development, continuation, and expansion
- Support to enable organization to carry out their core missions by strengthening organizational capacity and program sustainability
- Funding for specific projects with capital expenditures, such as equipment and facilities
